Marshal kills jet passenger after threat-Frantic man who said he had bomb is shot outside plane in Miami; wife says he was mentally ill.: "MIAMI -- An agitated passenger who claimed to have a bomb in his backpack was shot and killed by a federal air marshal Wednesday after he bolted frantically from a jetliner that was boarding for takeoff, officials said. No bomb was found.
It was the first time since the September 11 terror attacks that an air marshal had shot at anyone, Homeland Security Department spokesman Brian Doyle said. Another federal official said there was no apparent link to terrorism.
According to a witness, the passenger ran down the aisle of the Boeing 757, flailing his arms, while his wife tried to explain that he was mentally ill and had not taken his medication.
The shooting death was cited by some congressional leaders and air security experts as the first successful -- if deadly -- example of the government's ramped-up commercial airline security efforts. But others said that opening fire on passengers who threaten airline travel could lead to even worse consequences for bystanders."

Living on a tropical island is complicated, but definately it has its good times. This friday I leave for Vieques!!! YES! I love the beaches over there and the good peoples. Also Tyson, my wolf dog, loves being able to do as he pleases on the shores over there. I mean, at least when the forest rangers don't show up to tell me to keep him on a leash. Jejee... well, I admit seeing a 90lb wolf dog on a blue tropical beach isn't something you see everyday and might be a bit nerve wrecking.
Getting back to the story here, Puerto Rico is nice. You definately have to be able to adapt and think outside the box, but it gets fun and you develop a routine for yourself. And trust me, thats the key to being happy. You need to find your niche. Otherwise this place will turn you upside down and left and right and then spit you out as a bloody pulp of poop.
I know, not exactly the sort of visual you need to see, but I just wanted to make a point. Alas, three years on this rock, but I must say I've developed for the better. I like me a little better. Well, perhaps more than a little better. And the spanish has really taken hold within me. I can think completely in spanish on certain days. Sweet eh?
*sigh* but the whole love department is wicked. I can't seem to take hold into anyone of the opposite sex here. I mean there's some beautiful women, but here it's more about their personalities since the beautiful part has been taken care of. So I'm tryin to find a friend, a good friend, someone I can count on and help them with their lives a bit. And have fun, good wholesome family fun and even now and then some wickedness. Jeejeee
And there's the pickle. Because friends don't like to date here. People prefer to meet people and be superficially in love. If you know someone for awhile then you're just friends forever and ever I guess. I mean, as long as you're not some studly bronze beach bum. Then you get to have sex with who ever you want.
So unless I wake up one day with a gorgeous body I guess I'm gonna have to start lookin for a casual passerby and set the lure and see if they'll bite. I do hate to do it, but my options are running low. My time here isn't forever, at least not at this point in my life. So I either hurry up or miss out on my turn.
So peace be with me and good luck by my side, arrrgh!! Jajaa... a pirate's life for me! This too will pass, but let's have fun before we get to the end and have to disembark.
Much love to my peeps. WuTang 4ever! Jah love mon!

Wired News: "Rocky Mountain High
The voters of Denver have spoken, voting by a 54-46 percent margin to legalize the possession of an ounce of pot by adults. While marijuana advocates -- who argue that a little grass is far more benign than getting blotto at your local bar -- were happy with the vote, 'the authorities,' predictably, were not. Now the coppers say they'll circumvent the will of the people by enforcing tougher state possession laws instead. H.L. Mencken wasn't describing the nuances of intoxication when he uttered his famous line about Puritanism -- 'the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy' -- but the spirit is the same. Lighten up, man.

Wired News: "Fatten the Goose for Market
In Mauritania, thin is definitely not in. Because of an ancient belief that corpulent women are more desirable, girls are routinely force-fed rich foods to prepare them for marriage. The practice is called 'gavage' -- a French word associated with fattening geese to produce foie gras -- and is often accompanied by torture, thought to distract the girls from the force-feeding. Some have had fingers or toes broken, and others had their feet crushed by a 'zayar' -- a wooden vice that would only be loosened after they ate. While gavage is falling out of vogue, some girls now take pills to boost their appetite or animal steroids to help them beef up. Said the head of a government commission, 'Our society has this vision that a woman has to be fat to be beautiful.'

Workers cause big L.A. blackout / Outage affects millions, pointing to grid's vulnerability: "'This strikes me as something under the category of unbelievably bad luck, where you cut one line and have that kind of cascading effect,' said Bob Finkelstein, executive director of The Utility Reform Network in San Francisco, a consumer advocacy group."
Yeah, right. Try that in Puerto Rico and they'll hang you. Last year during Tropical storm Jean the power company shut off the grid in order to avoid an enormous blackout and the whole island was in outrage 'cuz it took almost two whole weeks to get power back on to the most remote regions of the island.

Wired News: "It's All in a Name
British visitors find the name of F---ing, Austria, so funny they keep stealing the village signs. Local authorities are not amused. 'We will not stand for the F---ing signs being removed,' the town's police chief told the The Sunday Telegraph. 'It may be very amusing for you British, but F---ing is simply F---ing to us. What is this big F---ing joke?' Local guide Andreas Behmueller says only the Brits seem to focus on the name -- Germans want to see the Mozart house in Salzburg, Americans are fascinated with the setting for The Sound of Music and the Japanese want to visit Hitler's birthplace in Braunau. 'But for the British, it's all about F---ing,' Behmueller said. Guesthouse manager Augustina Lindlbauer complains, 'Just this morning I had to tell an English lady who stopped by that there were no F---ing postcards.' "

Makes you wonder why a guy who has alot would even talk openly like this? Either way, he's got guts...Sports | Reuters.co.ca: "'I have used, you know, marijuana since I've been in the league,' Moss said on the HBO television program Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, which will air Tuesday night.
'But as far as abusing it and, you know, letting it take control over me, I don't do that, no.'
When asked if he still uses it, Moss said, 'I might. I might have fun. And hopefully I won't get into any trouble by the NFL by saying that.
'I have had fun throughout my years and, you know, predominantly in the offseason.'
A five-time Pro Bowler and one of the NFL's best big-play receivers, Moss also said he uses marijuana 'every blue moon or every once in a while.'"

Wired News: "Prehistoric Peter
Researchers have uncovered a powerful prehistoric tool in a German cave -- one of the earliest representations of male sexuality ever discovered. The 8-inch-long, 1-inch-wide phallus is thought to be 28,000 years old, and researchers say it's pretty obvious what the object, complete with carved rings around one end, was meant to represent. 'It's highly polished; it's clearly recognizable,' professor Nicholas Conard of Tübingen University told BBC News. The phallus was reassembled from 14 pieces of siltstone. Researchers had 13 fractured sections of the object in storage, but weren't able to put all the pieces together until they unearthed the 14th fragment last year. They believe the icon may have been used as an ancient sex toy, and for splitting flints.

Wow, what a week!!! You know when you start a week with a monday off you're thinking super! It'll be a short week. Riiigght....
Welcome to Puerto Rico, where we do it better. Ok, lets just start the whole thing off that there's no gasoline. All this Daddy Yankee shit and no gasolina on the whole fuckin island. Duh! Why do you say? Well the truckers here decided they were gonna strike. But when you strike here, it's more like civil war. You see the "UNION" has been sabotaging trucks that tried to work, even opening gunfire on one driver. Also, they blocked the ports' access to the roads, so nothing could leave the ships. Great.....
So the gas stations have been shut down, the people without gas haven't gone to work, opting to work "remote", at least there's not one traffic jam. That's good. But anyhow, you think that would be enough drama, no?
Well Puerto Rico does it better....
Now the rumor is that because of this no gasoline thing, the WellsFargo and other armour carrier trucks haven't been running and hence there's no recirculation of actual cash to ATMs. That caused a huge rush for ATMs and alot of them have been tapped out. But the news reminds us this is only a rumor. Who knows???
So now the word is gas is restored(translated) and cash will be available. Which is good 'cuz this is a 5 day weekend for the government. Wait, did I say 5 day weekend? Yeah, I did. That's 'cuz Monday is a holiday and Wednesday is a holiday so it only made sense to give tuesday off also!! Duh!!! So best the gas and cash situation is fixed 'cuz we all have a good mind to do some partying and beaching this weekend!!! Imagine, a 5 day weekend without gas and cash!! Terrible!
Okay, at least i have a pool in my backyard, so you know where I'm heading tomorrow during the day. That's right... and I don't care if I see my exgirlfriend there (hehehe long story....)!
Take care my peeps.
