Puerto Rico Points of Interest

Thursday, December 09, 2010

on the front, it seems the world is splitting at the seams. oh well. it could be worse. there was that time we had the black plague. you ever get that feeling that the music is playing and it about to end? musical chairs anyone?

puerto rico. beautiful place. time to leave? could be... oh well. let's see what happens. i hate thinking that this place of wondrous nature could be overcome by a concrete jungle. the beauty i ve seen here. thank you lord.

i know why nesta marley had such love in his heart. he lived in the caribbean afterall. just down the ways as the shark flows..

miss u nesta.

just though i'd leave some remarks here, just in case something went down and i got caught in the middle. the reality is that life is crazy here on the island. police helicopters get shot down with AK47s, students shut down universities, earthquakes, riots, bank robberies, grand theft auto and police car chases, execution on the highway, you name it, we got it.

i mean my life is Grand Theft Auto - San Juan. no joke. and if you can't take time to enjoy the fundamental fact that you lived another day, you'll go crazy too. so please, we can't just generalize here on this island. there are so many interconnections, yeah, like the Navi from Pandora, but seriously, no one is exactly right, and no one is completely wrong. and everyone deserves forgiveness.

our system down here is beyond corrupt. and anger and angst increase ten-fold daily due to less opportunities and more down turn. everyday more people are unemployed, and by more people i mean thousands at a time. and no help in sight. no one signing songs of hope. its all live to die another day type of rhetoric, while the division bells ring louder by the minute, creating imaginary lines of separation, betwix the Them and US, ripe for WAR, teeming to explode. it's as though we can all see, but keep quiet in hopes that perhaps it won't manifest if we choose not to recognize it.

and what to do? deep down inside we know we do not have a manifest destiny. we know that the choice is not ours to make. over a century we've been led to play the status game without asking the officials to write down the rules.

i can only hope that the whole planet gets kinder, more peaceful, and that something breaks thru the cloudy dredge of smog that hovers over this island.

for my part, i choose peace. i choose love. my choice for words best said lie in bob marley songs. one love my friends, one love.

another year... how cool... i've made it to 2010, sounds sooo sci-fi. anyhow, 2009 was bitter and sweet, yet i remember mostly the sweet. yeah, i had a mac and iphone stolen, and yeah, i was kinda unemployed for awhile, but somehow i made the most of it.

thanks to the good friends, yeah, people like greg da pimp allen!! thanks to the good family, especially awesome siblings. and mad love to all good peoples of earth.

2009, a year of rebuilding, no? thousands laid off at once, people with no hope, 900 murders in one year, but what of the miracles and goodness?

not to mention, avatar. good movie. pandora, are you really out there?

what hope for puerto rico? i dont know. its getting crazy down here, 2010 already has over 40 violent murders and january aint over. crazy.

much love to the peoples. much love to the sun and beach and fish and dolphins and so on...

and much love to my friend tyson, wolf dog for life. i dont know how much longer you'll be with me, maybe just a few more days. i love u with all my might. u will never be forgotten.

thank u tyson, my wolf dog...
